After years of attending San Leandro Rotary events as Ken Pon's guest, Suizi decided to make it official. She is one of our newest members! As a Rotarian, she looks forward to becoming more involved in the local community and meeting new friends. Although Suizi doesn't live in San Leandro, she has strong ties to our city. She has attended many San Leandro Rotary events, helped several politicians do precinct walks throughout San Leandro, attended political events at Zocalo, helped at Sausage and Suds, and has generally been in and out of San Leandro.  "I like San Leandro's vibe, which feels like a warm and integrated community," shared Suizi.

Suizi's parents, currently in their 90s and 80s, immigrated from Burma to the United States in the late 1970s with six (6) children.  Luckily most of her parents' brothers and sisters also ultimately immigrated to the Bay Area, so she has a large extended family in Sacramento and the San Francisco / Peninsula area.  Most of her brothers and sisters also remained local.  She graduated from James Logan High School, went on to UC Berkeley, and then to Loyola Law School in Los Angeles before starting her legal career at a small firm in Hayward, CA.

A fun fact about Suizi? She is a secret band geek and played the clarinet in her college marching band. Perhaps we need a Rotary band at next year's Cherry Festival?
